Veilrun, LLC ("Veilrun," "we," "us") makes the Veilrun app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email privacy@veilrun.app.
The Short Version
- We collect what the app needs to work: your account details and your progress.
- Your Quest Journal is private. Other users can't see it.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
- Payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, password, and username. Passwords are handled by our sign in provider and are never visible to us.
- Profile choices: your Class, avatar portrait, equipped frame and title, and settings such as whether to share your activity in the Guild.
- Onboarding answers: your answers to the short questions during setup, which we use to recommend quests.
- Quest Journal entries: notes and reflections you write. These are private to your account.
- Messages to support: anything you include when you email us.
Information created as you use the app
- Progress: the quests you accept, tasks you complete, coins earned and spent, streaks, items you own, and the date you last signed in.
Purchases
If you subscribe to Guild membership, the purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status. We receive information such as which plan you have, when it renews or ends, and a purchase identifier. We do not receive your payment card details.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone or camera input, and we don't use analytics or advertising trackers.
How We Use Information
- To create and run your account and save your progress.
- To recommend quests and show your rewards, streaks, and journal.
- To provide Guild membership benefits when you subscribe.
- To respond to support requests and send account emails, such as password resets.
- To keep the app secure, prevent abuse, fix problems, and improve Veilrun.
What Other Users Can See
Your Quest Journal, onboarding answers, email address, and coin balance are never shown to other users. When community features are available, other members may see your username, avatar, title, and activity you choose to share, such as completed quests. You can turn off sharing at any time in Edit Profile with the "Share my activity in the Guild" setting.
Who We Share Information With
We share information only with service providers that help us run Veilrun, and only for that purpose:
- Google Firebase for sign in, data storage, file storage, and website hosting.
- RevenueCat to manage subscription status.
- Apple and Google to process purchases and distribute the app.
We may also share information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information. We do not sell your personal information.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and the data tied to it within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records for legal, tax, or security reasons. Backups may take a little longer to clear.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: you can see and edit most of your information in the app. Email us for anything you can't change yourself.
- Deletion: email support@veilrun.app from the address on your account to delete your account and data.
- Sharing: turn Guild activity sharing on or off in Edit Profile.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel through the App Store or Google Play.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to request a copy of your data. Email privacy@veilrun.app and we'll respond within the time the law requires.
Security
We use security rules so that each account's private data can only be accessed by that account, and we rely on Google's infrastructure to protect stored data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.
Children
Veilrun is intended for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Where Information Is Stored
Veilrun is based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States by our service providers.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app or by email when appropriate.
